The central ballot counting board is appointed by the Jefferson County Board of Elections and permitted under statute to process the mail-in absentee ballots. The central ballot counting board may begin counting ballots 14 days prior to the election. Accordingly, the central ballot counting board will begin processing mail-in absentee ballots on Thursday, October 24. You can observe the central ballot counting board processing absentee ballots weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. noon and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. And Saturday, October 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. And Saturday, November 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
