Election Officer Information

Who?
Registered Republicans and Democrats in Jefferson County who have not changed their party affiliation within the last year. Voters not registered as Republican or Democrat can still apply and may be used in certain situations.


What?
Election officers work on Election Day. Each election officer is compensated $40.00 for attending a 2.5 hour training session and $160.00 for working Election Day.


When?
Primary Election – May 21, 2019.
General Election – November 5, 2019.


Why?
Each polling location requires two Republican and two Democratic workers, and in certain situations registered Independent and registered “Others,” to ensure the voting process is carried out in a fair and legal manner.
